A colourful and absorbing way of learning to read with Carlo the giraffe! Carlo likes reading everywhere and everything. He reads his bedroom, his breakfast – he even reads his dad! That’s because everything in his colourful world has a clear label attached with its name on it – slippers, Crackers the cat, fly, teapot, bin, grater and milk. Children learning to read can point, say and read through the day with Carlo, a sympathetic and likeable character. And if the reading gets frustrating, Carlo doesn’t worry about it – he likes galloping too!

Dydi Alun ddim yn hapus pan mae Mam yn prynu llyfr iddo yn lle tegan. Ond daw i ddeall fod dipyn o sbort a drygioni i’w gael rhwng cloriau ambell i lyfr.

Alun isn’t very happy when his mother buys him a book instead of a toy. However, he realises that you can have a great deal of fun between the covers of many a book.

A moving, lyrical picture book about a young girl’s love for her granddad and how she copes when he dies, written by poet and playwright Joseph Coelho.

This beautifully illustrated, powerful and ultimately uplifting text is the ideal way to introduce children to the concept of death and dying, particularly children who have lost a grandparent.
