Once we had got our heads round “Previously,” we decided to sequence some well-known traditional tales. Zahra wanted to add loads of writing!

At first, we got very confused by the book, so we decided to try to sequence all of the events to make sense of what was going on.

We sorted the pictures from the story so that the events were the right way round, then added captions to say what was happening.

Later, we added conjunctions so that the story flowed more easily.

When we had finished, we stuck everything together to make one long sequence, then displayed some of them so that visitors could understand what we were studying.

A scaffold for creating new spells based on those in the book. Most of the words are already there, allowing the children to focus on the rhyming element and the “bippety-bop” words.
