Name Savita Kalhan

About Savita Kalhan

Savita Kalhan was born in India but moved to the UK when she was very young. She graduated with a Joint Honours degree in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She was a Batik artist and taught English in the Middle East before she turned to writing. When she is not writing she is either playing tennis or on her allotment, and she can never grow enough chillies.

Her debut novel, The Long Weekend, is a gritty novel about two boys who are abducted after school. It was short-listed for the Fab Award 2010.

Her teen/YA novel The Girl in the Broken Mirror was published on 1st May 2018 by Troika Books. It is a powerful story of betrayal, of family, of love and loss, and ultimately hope. It was Love Reading 4 Kids Book of the Month.
