About Jim Medway
I've loved comics and kids books forever, so now divide my time between creating, and teaching comic and drawing skills. 'Playing Out' came out in 2013, and was shortlisted for the Young Peoples Comics Awards that year, and for The Phoenix Comic I drew the daft adventure strip 'Sergeant Chip Charlton and Mr Woofles of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police', which is now published as a collection by Bog Eyed Books. I've also illustrated a series of reference books for kids; 'Big Dogs, Little Dogs', and similar volumes for cats, horses and farm animals. Since 2006, I've enjoyed going into schools, galleries, libraries and elsewhere teaching comic skills. This gives me loads of ideas for new stories too. I'm the external examiner on Staffordshire University's Cartoon & Comic Arts BA, and a returning teacher on the Graphic Storytelling BA in Viborg, Denmark.
